Kick It California World Health Day Cessation Resources

During the month of World Oral Health Day (which was on March 20), Kick It California (KIC) has been promoting their free tobacco and nicotine cessation services.
Smoking and other tobacco and nicotine use can cause oral health problems, such as oral cancer, gum disease, tooth loss, tooth staining, and bad breath. See the data here.
That’s why it’s so important to continue collaborating with our partners, as well as oral health and healthcare providers, to promote and refer their patients and clients to KIC’s free, evidence-based tobacco and nicotine cessation services. Quitting is one of the best things your patients and clients can do for their oral health.

How Quitting Tobacco and Nicotine Can Improve Your Patients and Clients Health
1) Mouth sores from using tobacco heal within 2 weeks
2) Lower risk of leukoplakia
3) Reduced tooth decay, cavities, receding gums, black hairy tongue, bad breath, and teeth staining
4) Decreased risk of mouth and throat cancer
