My name is Jason Cross. I graduated from UC Davis with a B.A. in Italian Language. I went on to Cal State East Bay (Hayward) for my teaching credential in History. I taught history, math and nutrition. I’ve taught middle school in Oakland. I have extensive experience tutoring young people suffering health and economic disparities who are marginalized as well as supervising tutoring agencies in both Richmond and Oakland. I found great satisfaction working for both Community Health Education Institute as well as SF Kids vs. Big Tobacco. My work included networking with the community, testifying at City Council, educating Council members, and community outreach to help ban menthols and flavors. I have extensive experience doing accounting and working as an administrative assistant to organize objectives and carry out a work plan for tobacco control grants. I have presented and created a power-point presentation at a LOOP conference. I enjoy educating people about health topics, advocacy work, personal assistant work, and fighting big tobacco. When I was 16 I did an undercover sting operation. When I’m not working you might find me practicing my dance moves or shooting a game of pool to unwind.
