“Alix” Alexandra Winston has been a "Tailored Assistance Trainer" for The LOOP since 2017. Previously working as an aide to Solano County Supervisors and gaining firsthand experience in policy, grant implementation, and cross-dimensional teamwork has added to her experience in tobacco control policy in California. Prior to working in Solano County, Alix was Policy Specialist with the Alameda County Tobacco Control Program from 2015-2017. She has been working in Tobacco Control for the past 9 years.

Prior to joining Alameda County, Alix was a Government Relations & Advocacy Manager at the American Lung Association in their Bay Area office. Since she has worked in tobacco control, Alix has worked on more than twenty-five successful tobacco control policies including cessation provisions to be included in the implementation of the ACA in CA, smoke-free multi-unit housing, tobacco retail licensing, and zoning, flavor regulations, minimum pack-size, minimum price, electronic nicotine delivery device restrictions, tobacco 21, tobacco-free pharmacies, and smoke-free outdoor air regulations.

Furthermore, Alix has coordinated the Alameda County Tobacco Control Coalition for 4+ years, building its membership, committees, and capacity to a list of more than 300 members with about 60 core members. She graduated with honors with a BA in Organizational Development and Leadership from Eckerd College in her hometown of St. Petersburg, FL. After moving to CA she earned a Master's in Public Administration at California State University. She looks forward to continuing to assist The Loop's efforts in coordinating a response to protect communities from the harms of tobacco use with a focus on the social injustices and health inequities of priority populations most affected by the targeted efforts of the tobacco industry.
