The Gender Health Equity Section administers several exciting and cutting-edge programs through our newly established units;

  • Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Wellness and Health Equity Unit
  • Transgender, Gender-Diverse and Intersex Wellness and Health Equity Unit
  • Reproductive Freedom and Abortion Access Unit

    All positions offer full or part-time telework options from within California with occasional travel required to Sacramento or the San Francisco Bay Area. More than one listing may appear per position because each vacancy will be advertised across multiple counties. The incumbent will be headquartered in the county nearest the residence of the selected candidate. The counties are: Contra Costa or Sacramento.


    TGI Health Research and Evaluation Scientist (Research Scientist III): The Research Scientist III (RS III) plans, organizes, and directs scientific research studies of a highly developed scope and complexity related to the health and health equity of TGI populations. The RS III will lead and oversee the design and implementation of research and evaluation for the TGI Fund, a complex statewide grant program. The
    RS III works closely with local nonprofit community-based organizations to develop evaluation goals and objectives, select appropriate evaluation designs and statistical techniques, and more. The RS III also works closely with disparate TGI populations, researchers and TGI Fund grantees to ensure the design and implementation of research and evaluation is culturally and linguistically responsive and community driven. Lastly, the RS III serves as a subject matter expert for CDPH and the OHE on sexual orientation and gender identity data collection and best practices. The salary for the RS III positions ranges from $7,811–$9,777 per month.
