Healing HeARTS Project- Apply by Jan 31st!

This community art project will involve participants age 15+ in Southern California, each of whom will be asked to create a unique art piece based on their own lived experiences.
Participants may use any medium or combination of media, including paintings, murals, sculptures, poetry, music, movement, theater, etc. These art pieces will be displayed during NAPAFASA's annual Healing HeARTS Community Art Fest in May 2025. We do not require that the participants in our program have any formal art background or training, but rather, a desire to learn and express in new ways. This project was envisioned in response to the growing number of hate crimes directed towards Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, LGBTQ+ folks, and an altogether concern for hatred and bigotry directed towards all marginalized communities since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. A big part of this project will emphasize how communities of various backgrounds have worked together to achieve common social justice goals. With this project, we hope to encourage connection, collaboration, and expression.

All Participants will be provided with:

  • $250 art supply stipend
  • Mentorship from a professional artist
