Amador County (Tobacco Reduction of Amador County)

About This Partner/Organization

During this fiscal year, the local lead agency intends to accomplish three goals: (1)

Increase the referrals made by local health care, social service, and education agencies to

the California Smokers’ Helpline. (2) Successfully witness one jurisdiction in Amador

County adopting an outdoor sign policy that limits the coverage of retail store windows by

any type of advertising and signs to no more than 15%. (3) Increase the number

jurisdictions with a policy prohibiting smoking on the premise of outdoor recreational

facilities. The project will reach a wide span of targeted populations with these 3 areas of

focus including adults, tobacco users, elected officials, government agencies, low SES,

environmentalists and most prominently rural populations.
