BACR-Sunset Project (Sunset Tobacco Education Project)
About This Partner/Organization
The D6+ Project is a program of Bay Area Community Resources (www.bacr.org) that
uses youth development theory and community-based capacity building methods to
increase the price of tobacco products and eliminate retail price manipulation by creating
a comprehensive minimum pricing policy in the City and County of San Francisco. D6+
focuses on mobilizing transitional age youth (16-24 years) from primarily Latino and
African American communities in the Bay Area to be voices for change in themselves and
their community. These youth organizers work with retailers, local media, and other
stakeholders to achieve health equity for all by changing norms around smoking and
improving the well-being of their communities by supporting stronger tobacco pricing
legislation in San Francisco.
