Breathe California of Sacramento-Emigrant Trails advocates for clean air, healthy lungs and tobacco free communities. The STAND Project, Sacramento Taking Action against Nicotine Dependence is a project of Breathe California serving the greater Sacramento community and has three objectives: 1) one community college or trade school will adopt and implement smoke and tobacco free campus policies; 2) two jurisdictions will adopt smoke-free multifamily housing policies; and 3) youth ambassadors will be recruited and trained as tobacco control advocates. The targeted communities are community college and trade school students and renters of multifamily housing living with low income; and youth of diverse backgrounds.
