Breathe California of Sacramento (Smoke-Free Sacramento)

About This Partner/Organization

Breathe California Sacramento Region (BCSR) advocates for clean air, healthy lungs and

tobacco-free communities. Smoke-Free Sacramento is a project of BCSR serving

communities within Sacramento County. The four objectives of this project are: 1) for at

least two jurisdictions in Sacramento County to adopt and implement comprehensive

smoke-free multi-unit housing policies, 2) for at least one jurisdiction to adopt and

implement a comprehensive smoke-free city parks and recreation areas policy and

include areas that are not covered by State Parks and Beaches laws, 3) for at least one

jurisdiction to adopt and implement a smoke-free outdoor workplace policy, and 4) to

recruit, train and support Youth Advisory Board members to be successful youth partners

in tobacco control. The priority populations targeted through this project are multi-unit

housing renters and property owners/managers, community members who recreate in

parks, blue-collar/outdoor workers, and youth of diverse backgrounds from across

Sacramento County. This project will build on current momentum for tobacco control in

Sacramento County and contribute to progress for a tobacco-free California.
