California Health Collaborative - Chico (Smoke Free High Country)

About This Partner/Organization

The Smoke Free High Country project will focus in Plumas, Lassen and Siskiyou Counties

to assist communities to: 1) adopt and implement point-of-sale policies in at least three (3)

jurisdictions in order to combat the Tobacco Industry's predatory pricing practices among

low-income, rural communities; 2) adopt and implement voluntary policies designating at

least five (5) behavioral health, substance abuse treatment and healthcare sites as

tobacco-free in order to reduce secondhand smoke exposure and encourage cessation

from among low-income, rural communities; and 3) adopt and implement tobacco-free

campus policies at Lassen Community College, Feather River Community College, and

the College of the Siskiyous in order to reduce secondhand smoke exposure, promote

cessation, and reinforce community norms related to a tobacco-free lifestyle.
