California Health Collaborative - Chico (Smoke Free North Coast)

About This Partner/Organization

The California Health Collaborative’s Smoke Free North Coast program focuses on

California’s four (4) most northern coastal counties including Del Norte, Humboldt,

Mendocino, and Lake. The goal of the program is to reduce rural tobacco use and

secondhand smoke exposure, and support community norms around tobacco use through

adoption of tobacco control polices in City/County General Plans and Housing Elements.

Strategies to accomplish these goals include: Education on Health in All (HiA) Policies to

policy makers and community stakeholders as they relate to social determinants of health,

relationship building with policy makers and influencers, hosting community summits,

building community advocates, providing technical assistance for tobacco control policies,

creating educational short videos, and having an online educational presence through

website and Facebook.
