HASPI (Sustainable Health Advances in Rural Environments-SHARE)

About This Partner/Organization

The Sustainable Health Advances in Rural Environments (e.g. SHARE) project addresses

exposure to secondhand smoke in low income rural communities of Northern California.

The project's three objectives will aim to 1) adopt and implement a Humboldt County

Public Housing Authority policy requiring 100% of its low income multi-unit housing to

become smoke-free, 2) adopt and implement a city-wide smoke-free multi-unit housing

policy in the City of Ferndale, 2) adopt a policy by two or more Tehama County cities

requiring multi-unit housing complexes to disclose the location of smoking and

non-smoking units, 3) collaborate with the tribal council of the Jackson Rancheria of

Mi-Wuk Indians to facilitate the adoption of a 100% smoke-free policy for the gaming floor

at Jackson Rancheria Casino.
