Mono County (Mono County Tobacco Education Program)

The Mono County Tobacco Education Program serves as the Local Lead Agency for

Mono County. The major goals of the Program are to reduce exposure to secondhand

smoke in multi-unit housing and outdoor dining, and doorway areas; eliminate the sale

and distribution of flavored tobacco products; promote tobacco cessation and cessation

services; and engage and mobilize communities through tobacco control trainings and

activities. Strategies to accomplish these goals include coordinating with other health

programs and agencies in Mono communities, providing education for policymakers and

other community stakeholders, educating the public with media and outreach, and

providing technical assistance and training.
