Monterey County (Monterey County Tobacco Control Program)

The Monterey County Health Department Tobacco Control Program Local Lead Agency's

goals are for one jurisdiction (e.g. Marina, Sand City, or other ) to adopt and implement a

tobacco retail licensing requirement; one jurisdiction ( (e.g. Salinas, County of Monterey,

and City of Monterey) will adopt a policy restricting smoking and electronic smoking

devices in outdoor public areas, such as dining areas, entryways, public events,

recreation and non-recreation areas, service areas, and/or sidewalks; and a minimum of 4

new youth coalition members (up to 20 years of age) will be recruited, trained, and

engaged to participate in tobacco control activities.
