NCADD-OC (Tobacco Free - Orange County (TFOC))

About This Partner/Organization

Tobacco Free - Orange County’s (TFOC) vision is to fulfill the tobacco control endgame

by addressing the rapidly evolving tobacco product landscape and challenging

youth-targeting practices within the retail environment through community-driven action.

The major goals of the program are to reduce exposure to secondhand smoke in outdoor

dining (Anaheim, Costa Mesa) and recreational areas (Orange, Rancho Santa Margarita)

through legislated smoke-free policies; to protect vulnerable youth by prohibiting the sale

of menthol and other flavored tobacco products (San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano);

and to assist jurisdictions in the adoption of prohibiting tobacco-related retail density

policies and restrict retailer locations near schools and/or capping the number of

tobacco-related retailers in a geographical area. (Fullerton, Mission Viejo).
