About This Partner/Organization
The goal of this proposal is quite simple - to seed the ground in California for an end to the
tobacco epidemic by phasing out the sale of commercial tobacco products. Our primary
objective is to move the needle on public opinion to boost support for cutting-edge policies
that address the retail sales environment for tobacco products. This work will be done in
close collaboration with other grantees supplying technical assistance on local education,
legal matters and substantive policy issues. Initial research suggests that public support is
already fairly robust, even among smokers, but that this support is not even across
geographic regions and within certain communities.
