The SOL Project, Saving Our Legacy, African Americans for Smoke-Free Safe Places

advocates for healthy, smoke-free communities in Sacramento and San Joaquin Counties

through individual behavior and community policy change. The objectives for 2015-2020

are to implement best practices identified in SOL's community action plan that addresses

social determinants of health; to adopt and implement a jurisdictional policy that prohibits

or limits the sale of mentholated and other flavored tobacco products and electronic

cigarettes; and adopt and implement a jurisdictional policy that protects African American

and low income communities from secondhand smoke exposure in places where people

live, work and play.
