Placer County (Placer County Tobacco Control Program)

About This Partner/Organization

During the 2017-2021 plan period, the Placer County Tobacco Prevention Program will

support one Placer County government center to become a smoke-free campus

(FY17-18), outreach to local jurisdictions to adopt tobacco retail density/zoning policies

(FY17-21), build partnerships with youth and young adult serving organizations (FY17-21)

and support smoke-free policies in parks, playgrounds, campgrounds, and beaches

(FY18-21). Partnerships within the Placer County government system will be identified to

support the government campus smoke-free campaign. Research and development of

retail licensing materials will result in outreach to 6 jurisdictions (Roseville, Rocklin,

Lincoln, Auburn, Colfax, and unincorporated Placer County) to consider adoption of retail

licensing ordinances prohibiting new tobacco retailers within 1,000 feet of a school,

childcare center, etc.
