Riverside County (Tobacco Control Project)
About This Partner/Organization
The Tobacco Control Project, Riverside University Health System-Public Health, strives to
reduce the availability of tobacco, reduce exposure to environmental tobacco smoke,
reduce teen exposure to tobacco influences and reduce tobacco-related health disparities.
Staff assist and educate community groups/organizations, community
leaders, and residents regarding the benefits of anti-tobacco policy enactment that
influences social norm change. The areas of focus include Tobacco Retailer Licensing,
smoke-free multi-unit Housing, and youth/adult engagement in various anti-tobacco
activities. The project seeks to serve the targeted populations, which include ethnic
minorities with high smoking prevalence rates, low SES groups, and youth/young
adults.
