Sacramento County (Sacramento County Tobacco Education Program (TEP))

About This Partner/Organization

The Sacramento County Tobacco Education Program (TEP) serves an urban area in the

Gold Country region consisting of 8 jurisdictions (7 cities and the unincorporated

county) with a total population of over 1,501,764. All individuals and communities are

eligible to receive TEP services; however, the program focuses on groups that may be

particularly vulnerable to the tobacco use such as youth and low-income individuals. The

TEP is part of the Sacramento County Chronic Disease Program and aims to improve

public health by providing health education and cessation resources, reducing youth

access to tobacco products, protecting the public from secondhand smoke, and offering

training and technical assistance. In addition, the TEP provides staffing and support for

the Sacramento County Tobacco Control Coalition.
