About This Partner/Organization

The California LGBT Tobacco Education Partnership (LGBT Partnership) has as its mission to counteract, through education and policy efforts, the negative impact tobacco use has had on the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) communities and other vulnerable California populations. A first objective involves working with at least 10 Boards of Supervisors and/or City Councils in Alameda, Contra Costa, Los Angeles, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Nevada, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Sonoma and/or Yolo Counties to adopt a policy against selling tobacco products in any retail establishment that is licensed by the State Board of Pharmacy to dispense prescription medications. A second objective involves working with City College of San Francisco to adopt a 100% tobacco-free campus policy (including electronic smoking devices) for its ten campus locations within the City and County of San Francisco
