San Joaquin County (Smoking & Tobacco Outreach and Prevention Program (STOPP))

About This Partner/Organization

The Smoking & Tobacco Outreach/Prevention Program (STOPP) is the tobacco control

program for San Joaquin County, operated by Public Health Services. With support from

the California Tobacco Control Program, STOPP will work from July 2017 through June

2021 to reduce the impact of tobacco among the County's most vulnerable populations.

Over the next four years, STOPP will advance three policy objectives: 1) Adopt a tobacco

retail licensing policy in at least one jurisdiction in the County; 2) Reduce access to

mentholated and other flavored tobacco products; and 3) Assure that any student

attending a university in San Joaquin County can enjoy a 100% smoke-free campus

environment.
