San Luis Obispo County (San Luis Obispo County Tobacco Control Program)

About This Partner/Organization

The San Luis Obispo Tobacco Control Program will be working on four objectives in this

work plan from July 1st, 2017 to June 30th, 2021. The four objectives are:

To educate policymakers and community members on the importance of tobacco

retail licensing (TRL) and provide groundwork to establish provisions to regulate the

sale of flavors and menthol tobacco products and earmark a portion of the license

fee for enforcement activities.

To support the adopting of tobacco-free campuses at community colleges and trade,
technical, and vocational schools in the County.

To develop the County of San Luis Obispo Tobacco Control Coalition (TCC) by
recruiting representatives from diverse/priority populations and non-traditional
partner agencies.

To educate and support at least one jurisdiction in the County to amend existing
public policies which define “smoking” to include the burning or heating of tobacco
products, other plant products and other natural or synthetic products.
