San Pasqual Tribe (The San Pasqual Anti-Tobacco Disparities Project)
About This Partner/Organization
The San Pasqual Anti-Tobacco Disparities Project will develop and implement policies to
limit the amount of tobacco waste on tribal lands alongside creating smoke-free outdoor
recreational areas such as parks, playing fields and outdoor events. The project will
educate San Pasqual Tribal Members and their families on commercial tobacco use, the
dangers of secondhand and thirdhand smoke exposure and the creation and adoption of
smoke-free in home pledges(voluntary for home owners and mandatory for HUD
subsidized housing on tribal lands). Through this tobacco grant the San Pasqual tribe
anticipates community engagement, youth interaction and education, peer to peer training
and leadership development in the prevention of tobacco and nicotine abuse including
vaping devices.
