The Just for Us: LGBT Tobacco Prevention Project based at Tri-City Health Center (TCHC) in Fremont seeks the adoption of a tobacco retail license by one or more of the cities served by TCHC (Fremont and Newark) which includes a minimum pack size requirement and sufficient fees to adequately support policy enforcement. The project also activates community youth to raise awareness of the impact of underage sales and inexpensive tobacco on youth smoking rates. Additionally, Just for Us provides internal support to TCHC clinic staff to ensure that patients who smoke obtain timely receipt and access to quality preventative information, resources, and opportunity to quit through the California Smokers’ Helpline’s web referral system.
