Yolo County (Yolo County Tobacco Prevention Program)

The Yolo County Tobacco Prevention Program 2017-2018 work plan includes goals and

strategies in three areas of tobacco control: 1) measuring the community readiness of the

4 cities for adopting a policy that would regulate the sale of tobacco flavored tobacco, 2)

encouraging the Yolo County Board of Supervisors to eliminate the use of tobacco and

electronic smoking devises on all County-owned properties, 3) increasing the ability of

the members of the Tobacco Prevention actively participate in community mobilization

efforts around tobacco control issues. Staff will collect a variety of process data including

public opinion polls, key informant interviews, focus groups, satisfaction surveys, and

post-training participant surveys to design educational material, media pieces, and training

curriculum to raise awareness and empower community members to address tobacco

related issues in Yolo County.
